The Google TV Streamer ditches the ability to sit behind your TV like the Chromecast did, but a clever case lets you change that.
In moving away from the “dongle” form factor of the Chromecast, the new Google TV Streamer presents a potential challenge for users who are looking to upgrade. Where the previous generation could just sit behind their TV, the Streamer needs room on a table, shelf, or cabinet.
Luckily, there’s a pretty easy solution.
Spigen, a well-known case maker, has a clever case for the Google TV Streamer that’s designed to let you easily hang the device behind your TV. The silicone bumper wraps around the Streamer – color-matched to the “Porcelain” and “Hazel” color variants – and adds a lanyard loop which can then be used to hang the device from the back of your TV.
The idea is basically to use the lanyard to hang the Streamer from your TV mount, but there’s a second option too. The case also has pre-applied adhesive so you can directly attach the Streamer to the back of your TV.
Spigen’s Google TV Streamer case and mount is available for $29.99 through Amazon, with both colors in stock and ready to ship.
