Google rolling out Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1 to Pixel

While we wait for the stable QPR1 release in December, Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1 is here for Pixel devices.

Quarterly Platform Releases deliver more significant changes compared to monthly bug fixes. They’re ideal for bigger UI tweaks and new features that don’t warrant waiting for the next major Android version.

Historically, QPRs are relatively stable and launch as betas rather than developer previews. Google officially says they are “suitable for general use,” with Android 15 QPR2 launching in March.

Android 15 QPR2 builds on the updates in the initial release of Android 15 and Android 15 QPR1. This QPR release includes the next round of refinements such as bug fixes and improvements to stability and performance.

The Android Beta Feedback app is available on Pixel to submit problems. You can access it from the app drawer or via Quick Settings to file bugs in the Google issue tracker, while the Android Beta community is on Reddit.

Android 15 QPR2 Beta 1 (BP11.241025.006) with the November 2024 security patch is available for the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro,. Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold, as well as the Android Emulator.

Surprisingly, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are still getting updates.

All eligible devices enrolled in the Android Beta for Pixel program will be offered an over-the-air (OTA) update to Beta 1.

Most people will be installing via the Android Beta Program, but you can also flash or sideload.
