The release of One UI 7, Samsung’s Android 15 update, has been delayed time and time again, but it’s finally nearing, and new reports offer a bit of context as to when the beta might be released.
Samsung was initially expected to release its Android 15 update months ago, but the company confirmed in October that One UI 7 would be delayed quite a bit. While a beta would be released before the end of 2024, the stable update wouldn’t arrive until 2025, debuting on the Galaxy S25 series.
According to new information, Samsung has again delayed the beta which was expected to start this week.
Max Jambor, a reliable leaker, says that Samsung is aiming for an “early December” release for the One UI 7 beta starting in the United States and Korea with other regions to follow. Beyond that, @FamilyTaes cites information from internal sources and from Weibo that offers a bit more detail.
Apparently, Samsung plans to release the One UI 7 beta to the Galaxy S24 series within the first week of December, with the Galaxy S23 series to follow within a couple of weeks. The Galaxy S22 series would also get a beta release, but it’s unclear if that would arrive before the end of 2024. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 series won’t get the beta at all, but the series is still expected to get the stable update eventually.
As for a full release, Samsung is rumored to be planning for a two-month beta with a stable update starting to roll out in February 2025.
