‘Pen for Google Pixel Tablet’ reportedly has button to open note apps, Find My Device [Video]

Google’s Pixel Tablet never got an official stylus, but new leaks reveal what the “Pen for Google Pixel Tablet” looks like, and some of its features.

At launch, the Pixel Tablet was a device seemingly designed more for the home than for use as a portable Android tablet. Unlike most other tablets, it launched without a keyboard or a stylus, though it has always supported the USI 2.0 standard.

However, there have been rumors and bits of evidence surrounding the development of more official Pixel Tablet accessories.

Now, leaks from the folks over at Android Authority have offered what seems to be a first look at the “Pen for Google Pixel Tablet,” the official stylus accessory that has yet to be released. The stylus is shown off in white and gray/green colors, is said to carry the codename “bushukan” and the model number “GM0KF,” and would have officially been called the “Pen for Google Pixel Tablet,” the report says.

Animated videos that Google produced also hint at the functionality of the stylus, which would have included a button on the top which, when pressed, could open up a note-taking app on the Pixel Tablet. Another video shows off handwriting-to-text conversion.

The report goes on to mention that charging would have been handled through the Pixel Tablet keyboard accessory which has also yet to go on sale, and that the “Pen for Google Pixel Tablet” would also support Find My Device for locating the stylus if it ended up lost.

Pixel Tablet owners can already easily pick up a USI 2.0 stylus to get handwriting conversion and the precise input of a digital stylus, but Google’s “Pen” seemingly would have offered features, particularly in the case of Find My Device, that third-party options do not support.
