Honor launches budget-focused Magic 7 Lite in Europe

Honor is gearing up for its Magic 7 lineup release with the launch of the first phone, the Magic 7 Lite. With an insane battery capacity and AI-focused features, the Magic 7 Lite acts as a precursor for what’s to come.

Honor is positioning the Magic 7 Lite as one of the most capable mid-range devices on the market. The phone will be equipped with Android 14 out of the box, which comes from Honor as MagicOS 8.0. That means the phone gets features like Honor’s Magic Capsule and Magic Portal for added convienicen in productivity.

Internally, the budget device offers a 6,600mAh battery. Generally, 6,000mAh — or anything close to it — is considered a heavy capacity. What Honor is offering in a mid-range device is even more amazing, given it suggests that the user can easily see a full day or more of heavy use. Honor is claiming 25.8 hours of online video playback, which is generally a good marker for how well a phone will do in everyday use. The company is also equipping the phone with a specialized armor layer that insults the battery, extending performance in colder conditions.

The rest of the Magic 7 Lite sits within the confines of “generic budget device.” That means it has a decent camera at a high 108MP count with up to 3x lossless zoom. The phone also brings a 6.78-inch OLED display that can hit up to 120Hz. Internally, it looks as though the phone utilizes a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, which likely won’t offer insane performance day-to-day. The phone is also equipped with an IP64 water and dust resistance rating.

Overall, the Magic 7 Lite looks to be a fine entry into the budget space, especially for those who need nonstop performance for days. Honor is launching the device in Titanium Purple and Titanium Black, both of which will be available starting in January at £399 in the UK.
