This Android Auto update should fix issues with the SiriusXM app

Some users have been running into issues with SiriusXM on Android Auto for the past few months, but a new update should fix that.

While SiriusXM, a satellite radio service, is built into most modern vehicles, the company’s Android Auto app allows drivers to stream their favorite stations while more easily moving back and forth between Google Maps and other apps. But, for many, the app has been having issues for a little while now.

Users report on Google’s forums that, as far back as November of last year, SiriusXM on Android Auto was broken in the sense that menus in the app weren’t functional. In turn, the app was only usable through voice commands, as the touch controls were effectively broken.

The issue has been ongoing for a while, but was finally patched in Android Auto 13.4, as Google recently confirmed. You’ll also want to check for SiriusXM app updates through the Play Store.

Android Auto 13.4 started rolling out in mid-December with the first addition of Material You colors on the car display, following the addition of that theming on Auto’s settings on your phone in early 2024. The latest version of Android Auto, 13.5, is now rolling out in beta and stable tracks, but without any major changes beyond some language/branding updates.
