Oppo’s upcoming Find N5 foldable is the basis for a future OnePlus Open sequel, and it’s thankfully fixing one of my biggest complaints about the original.
Set to launch next month, the Oppo Find N5 is shaping up to be a wild foldable with a super-thin design, the addition of previously missing features, and more. We’ve seen a lot of official teasers of the device, but some details have been hidden. New images of the device published on Weibo (via GizmoChina) now offer a closer look at the design.
Showing the Oppo Find N5 while it’s closed, the device continues to be remarkably thin. But what stands out more than that is the camera module on the back, which is much smaller than the one found on the OnePlus Open and Oppo Find N3. The camera bump comes out of the device much less than the previous generation, and doesn’t extend down quite as far on the back of the device.
I was personally annoyed by this while using the OnePlus Open, as the camera would often end up in the way of my finger. It was a little too low to act as a place to grip onto the device, and instead I’d end up touching the glass. This varies from person to person, of course, but making it smaller and thinner is a win for everyone.
