Deals: ‘Works with Alexa+’ smart displays and speakers from $30, Sony XM5 headphones $150 off, more

Now sitting alongside the ongoing Samsung enhanced trade-in offers on its latest S25 devices and much more, the early Amazon Big Spring Sale deals are kicking off with a host of price drops on ‘works with Alexa+’ smart displays and speakers from $30. From there we move over to some of the lowest prices to date on the beloved Sony XM5 headphones at $150 off as well as the previous XM4 set from $180, down from the regular $350 list price. The Nothing Ear transparent wireless ANC buds are now at a new $100 low while Walmart has now launched its giant Super Savings Week Spring sale. All of that and more awaits below in today’s 9to5Toys Lunch Break.

New Sony XM6 headphones have leaked, but we just spotted the beloved XM5 set at a new $250 Amazon low (Reg. $400)

Update: Alongside the particularly notable deal on the XM5 set below, some folks swear by the previous XM4 model and they are now down at one of the best prices ever via Amazon at $179.99 shipped – they still carry a regular price at $350 and this is undercutting the official 2024 Black Friday price.

Amazon is now offering a major price drop on the beloved Sony WH-1000XM5 Noise Canceling Headphones at $249.99 shipped. You’re looking at a regularly $400 set of over-ear headphones that are now seeing a giant 38% discount to deliver $150 in savings and the lowest price we have tracked on Amazon. This deal is live on all colors outside of the navy blue set that is still up at the $328 deal price we were tracking previously.

Just for comparison’s sake these wonderful headphones dropped just below $300 in official Black Friday sales last year before a quick dip down to the previous $278 Amazon all-time low. These were notable price tags for these cans for sure, but with the $250 we are tracking here today, this is among the lowest prices we have tracked all-time in new condition anywhere outside of some very limited daily offers and YMMV situations – this is a new Amazon all-time low.

Rumor has it the long-awaited XM6 headphones are indeed on the way – leaks from earlier this month surfaced some importer filings that detailed the new cans are inbound overseas. But it would appear there is still no official word on an actual release date.

We wouldn’t blame you for holding off for the new set, but you can bet you won’t be seeing a price anything like we have here today on the still more than capable XM5 model – it took years for them to drop this low on Amazon after all.

For some the XM series of headphones from Sony have been and remain the king of the ANC over-ears. While I for one think options from Bose and Apple can and do give them a run for their money, these Sony cans often undercut options from all of the major competitors, offering comparable over-ears. That, in combination with just how good the XM5 set truly is, make them one of the best sets of headphones you can buy anywhere.

Nothing Ear transparent wireless ANC buds just hit the lowest price we have tracked at $100 (Reg. $149)

Update: Woot has now dropped the price even lower to the best we have tracked on the Nothing Ear bus down at $99.99 shipped in both the black and white colorways – they are currently selling for $149 at Amazon. Details below in the original post.

The official Woot storefront on Amazon is back again today with all-time low pricing on the Nothing Ear buds down at $114 shipped in black for $115 in white. These wild-looking transparent earbuds carry a regular price at $149 (despite the Amazon listing saying $159) and are now nearly 25% off the going rate to mark the lowest price we can find. Today’s deals land on par with the Black Friday low we featured at the tail end of last year and the beginning of 2025.

While we have already provided an exhaustive rundown of the feature set and user experience on the entire current-generation lineup of Nothing earbuds – Ear, Ear (a), and Ear (open) –right here, let’s take a look at some highlights while we are at it.

First and foremost, at least for me, is the design – there’s really not much out there that can stand toe-to-toe with the Nothing design approach. The sort of retro-modern vibes with the transparent buds and case are serious conversation starters if you ask me.

On the tech side of things, you can expect to find up to 45dB of Active Noise Cancellation and hi-res audio support – 24bit/192kHz with LHDC 5.0 and up to 990kbps with frequencies up to 24bit/96kHz via devices that support it. All of which joins as much as 40.5 hours of battery life.

And for folks also rocking a Nothing handset, you’ll find integrated ChatGPT functionality here – “access ChatGPT on Ear and Ear (a), wherever you are…Get the answers you need faster, and at your fingertips. Text, voice or image search right from your home screen.”

Rare deal knocks the latest Matter-certified Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) down to $239

Just after seeing a number of major price drops across the current-generation Google Pixel lineup – Pixel 9/Pro smartphones, Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Buds Pro 2, Pixel Tablet, and more, this morning we are turning our attention to the latest Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) that debuted last year. Price drops on this new, updated model have been relatively hard to come since launch, but Amazon is stepping in this morning to knock the list price down to $239.99 $239 shipped in all three colors – within $10 of the all-time low.

Regularly $280, today’s deal is on par with the lowest price drops we have tracked since release last summer outside of the official $230 offer for Black Friday last year. And in the 8 months it has been on the market, this is only the fourth time we have tracked a significant deal price.

The Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) is the first major update on the popular previous-generation model in the better part of a decade. Landing with a borderless onboard display that has been updated for brightness and legibility since release via an OTR upgrade that anyone can access, it is the brand’s “smartest, most advanced thermostat yet.”

The 60% larger display with Dynamic Farsight so you can “see it from across the room” also joins the usual Google Home app control with Alexa voice command action alongside Matter-compatibility “for simple integration into your smart home” and to better manage your HVAC system.

This one also ships with a Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd gen) for even more hyper local readings across your space, as well as wider compatibility – “most 24V systems, including gas, electric, oil, forced air, heat pump, and radiant, and no C wire is required for installation in most homes.”
