OnePlus has been betting pretty heavily on mobile gaming in the past few years, but a new “Turbo” lineup is apparently on its way and OnePlus says it is “frighteningly strong” – whatever that’s supposed to mean.
In a post on Weibo, OnePlus’ Li Jie Louis confirmed that the company is working on a new “OnePlus Turbo Series” of smartphones that will focus even more heavily on gaming.
Louis explains (translated):
At yesterday’s OnePlus 12th anniversary event, I revealed some big news: OnePlus is about to launch the brand new #OnePlusTurboSeries# , which will inherit the flagship’s powerful performance genes, lead the strongest battery life in its class, and deliver an unprecedented gaming experience in its price range. The arrival of the new OnePlus Turbo is bound to become a product with “frighteningly strong” performance, battery life, and gaming experience in its segment!
…In 2026, we will continue to explore the upper limits of gaming performance and bring the ultimate experience to more people.
There’s no word on whether or not these phones will be sold outside of China, but it sounds like the two key points OnePlus is focusing on are performance and battery life.
The latter is pretty evident from posts by leaker Smart Pikachu on Weibo, who has previously posted about how the Turbo series will include “two large-screen phones” with batteries around 9,000 mAh. As far as the chipset goes, one device is apparently in testing with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 or MediaTek Dimensity 9500e, with another presumably lower-cost model using Snapdragon 8S Gen 4 or MediaTek Dimensity 8500.
There are still a lot of details we don’t know about these devices, but it’s certainly an interesting push from OnePlus.
