According to a new report, Samsung’s upcoming Android XR glasses will have a 12MP camera on board, and might offer some form of multiple variants.
GalaxyClub reports that “Galaxy Glasses” will ship with a 12MP built-in camera. That’s the same resolution as is found in Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, and lines up with an app leak that showed 1080p and 3K recording options.
The report further brings out that Samsung’s first Android XR glasses might come in two variants.
This comes from the finding that Samsung has two separate model numbers for these glasses, both of which are heading for the same region. SM-O200P and SM-O200J are apparently both being released in the same regions. So why the different model numbers? There’s a whole host of possible reasons. Samsung could be planning multiple frame styles, or two different sizes (like Meta offers), or it could even be related to the lenses. It’s hard to say anything for certain this early on.
Samsung is expected to launch its first part of Android XR glasses sometime this year.
