Samsung’s impressive new Galaxy Z TriFold has a US release date, with the foldable hitting select store shelves and online retail on January 30 for a price tag of $2,899.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is Samsung’s first new foldable form factor since 2020’s Galaxy Z Flip release, with the new device building on the Galaxy Fold series with a third section of screen (two hinges) that unfolds to a wider 10-inch display. The TriFold has been available in Korea and some other regions for a few weeks now, but Samsung isn’t wasting any time in bringing it to the United States.
Today, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Z TriFold will see a US release date of January 30, this coming Friday, with the device available at Samsung.com as well as at Samsung Experience Stores.
The Galaxy Z TriFold will be priced at $2,899 in the US, pretty close to what we predicted.
That’s for the 512GB model which will come exclusively in “Crafted Black” which has a faux carbon fiber back. Notably, there have been rumors that Samsung will not offer insurance coverage for the TriFold via its Care+ program, with the device also not eligible for device trade-ins. We’ve reached out to Samsung for clarification on this, but the company didn’t provide an answer prior to embargo time.
Galaxy Z TriFold is powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 1), has a camera setup nearly identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Samsung says that the hinges have been tested for around 200,000 folds.
