Android 16 will be the last update for the OnePlus 10 Pro, after the company announced a rare support extension. The last Android upgrade is rolling out now.
According to an official OnePlus community post, the company is now starting to make OxygenOS 16 available for the OnePlus 10 Pro on a global scale.
This update comes after OnePlus gave the 10 Pro a surprise extension last year. Its release plan resources have since been updated to reflect the change, noting that the OnePlus 10 Pro will get 4 years of OS updates. That would bring it up to Android 16, which is where support ends. All other devices, including the 10R and 10T, are walled off from the latest public release of Android.
It was originally thought that the OnePlus 10 Pro would be limited to three OS updates, just like every other device before it. Right after, the company promised that all its succeeding flagships would receive at least 4 years of major updates. That includes the OnePlus Open and 11, which should see support up until next year.
The OxygenOS 16 update, based on Android 16, brings plenty of changes, for better or for worse. We’ve broken down some of these adjustments before, but in short, it doesn’t shine quite as bright as the OEM’s previous work. OnePlus’ changelog highlights performance updates with better visuals and faster load times. On top of that, the update is heavily focused on AI enhancements.
OnePlus says that the Android 16 update will hit the 10 Pro in India first, with more regions to follow “in batches.” It likely won’t be long until users in Europe, the US, and other countries begin to see access.
