After months of leaks and rumors, the “Xiaomi Tag” appears to be nearing launch, with the AirTag-like device including support for both Android Find Hub and Apple’s Find My networks at a low price.
WinFuture first uncovered images and details about the upcoming Xiaomi Tag, with the device carrying model number “BHR08SPGL” and showing up at a handful of European retailers. The tracker is said to carry a retail price of €17.99 as shown on Xiaomi’s own website in France, with a 4-pack costing €59.99.
The tracker measures 7.2mm thick and uses a CR2032 battery for a 1-year charge. The tracker also supports Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC, but there’s no mention of UWB support.
The lack of UWB likely boils down to the apparent dual support of Android’s Find Hub network alongside Apple Find My. The latter network doesn’t support UWB outside of Apple’s own AirTag, which is a key reason why other dual-network trackers lack UWB.
It’s unclear how widely Xiaomi intends to sell this tracker, but it’s clearly going to be available across portions of Europe based on early listings. The tracker isn’t expected to come to the US, of course. Xiaomi hasn’t formally announced the device just yet, so we’ll have to stay tuned for more.
