Pixel 10a gets boosted trade-in values for iPhones, Pixel 4a and Pixel 6a, Galaxy

The Pixel 10a has arrived and, as per usual, boosted trade-in values are among the best way to score a discount, and Google has some solid values in store for Pixel 4a owners.

Google’s latest mid-range release, the Pixel 10a, feels pretty familiar compared to the latest generation. It has the same chipset, the same overall design, and more or less the same features too. That said, it looks like a solid device, and that vibrant new “Berry” color alone is a compelling temptation.

But while there might not be much of a reason to upgrade a Pixel 9a to a Pixel 10a – please don’t do that – this does make for a solid upgrade from past generations, especially as Google is boosting trade-in values for older Pixel A-series devices.

The Pixel 4a and Pixel 5a, both out of time for quite a while now for Android updates, both get a $100 trade-in credit towards the Pixel 10a on the Google Store. That’s double what you’d get for trading in towards a Pixel 9a or Pixel 10. Pixel 6a is similarly boosted to $125, and that’s a needed upgrade as well seeing as updates for that device will end in just over a year. Perhaps the best overall A-series trade is for the Pixel 7a, which would also make for a big jump to the 10a given recent Tensor improvements. Google also sent out discount codes to some Pixel owners ahead of today’s launch, though it’s not clear if those codes stack with trade-ins.

Google isn’t boosting trade-in values quite as high for devices from brands such as Motorola, OnePlus, and others, but there are some solid deals to be found on iPhone and Galaxy trades. The iPhone 13 is an especially good trade-in value.

Here are a few examples from the Google Store, as well as Best Buy, which isn’t boosting trade-ins quite as much, but is offering a $100 gift card with pre-orders that can be used on non-Google products. You can also trade in at Amazon, but the values are much lower unless you’re trading an iPhone, and you have to forgo a $100 gift card or free Pixel Buds 2a.
