Galaxy S26 series is already a hit, 70% of pre-orders are for Ultra

According to new data out of Korea, Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series is already breaking pre-order records and is ahead of its predecessor, with the vast majority of early purchases being for the Galaxy S26 Ultra in particular.

Yonhap News reports that Samsung has already hit 1.35 million pre-orders for the Galaxy S26 series in South Korea alone, a new record for Galaxy S flagships. That passes the 1.3 million pre-orders for last year’s Galaxy S25 series, too.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of that is for the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which makes up a whopping 70% of these early orders. White and black were apparently the most popular colors for the Ultra as well as the base S26, while the Plus model was more popular in “Cobalt Violet.” The report doesn’t break down the split between the S26 and S26+ making up the remaining 30%~.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra, as our Andrew Romero previously pointed out, is easily the most attractive device in Samsung’s refreshed lineup. Where the S26 and S26+ are merely chip upgrades, the Ultra at least makes improvements to the physical hardware design, as well as introducing the Privacy Display that can shield your display’s contents from those viewing the screen at off-angles – i.e., peeking over your shoulder.
