The Galaxy S26 series is getting its first update, but it isn’t the one Samsung just released for March 2026.
Samsung’s initial update for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra doesn’t look too out of the ordinary. Under the designation AZC7, each phone seems to be receiving Samsung’s February 2026 security update (via Droid Life). That update addresses a few security concerns, and it’s reached most newer devices by the time of writing.
It isn’t entirely out of the ordinary. It appears that Samsung is trying to catch the device up to its current schedule, and a lot of devices are behind. Once the Galaxy S26 series receives the March 2026 security update, it should be first in line to receive every other patch for the next year.
It’s possible that Samsung included bug fixes in this update. Bugs for a new phone aren’t unheard of, and it already looks like some users are experiencing a Galaxy S26 bug issue that prevents them from using certain apps. The recent bug forces Google Play Protect to block some apps unnecessarily. Whether this patch solves that issue is unknown.
This update comes as the Galaxy S26 is almost out of its pre-order phase. The pre-order period ends March 11, and with it, Samsung’s boosted trade-ins. Once that period is up, it’s much harder to upgrade devices, and that’s only compounded by rising device prices.
Users can update their devices by heading into the Settings menu and looking for the Software update page.
