Vivo is today launching the X300 Ultra, a phone focused on camera quality and, even more so, video. Here’s what it brings to the table.
The Vivo X300 Ultra is launching in China first, but will later launch in global markets (via GSMArena), which is a first for Vivo’s Ultra-tier series. It’s not expected to come to the US.
Under the hood, the Ultra is a powerhouse as you might expect. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 12GB/16GB of RAM, up to 1TB of storage, a 6,600 mAh battery, 100W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and a 6.82-inch 144Hz AMOLED display.
But the cameras are the focus here.
At the center is a 200MP main camera, backed up by a 200MP 85mm-equivalent telephoto camera. That’s 3.7x optical zoom. There’s also a 50MP sensor with an ultrawide lens at 116-degree field of view. Vivo will also be selling add-on lenses that include a 200mm-equivalent and a 400mm-equivalent, the latter offering 4.7x optical zoom.
Vivo touts improved color science that can be tuned by the user, with 3D LUT support and the ability to import LUT files through the new Photography app, and multi-focal 10-bit 4K 120fps Log video support.
We’ll be looking forward to more details on the Vivo X300 Ultra’s global launch in the not-too-distant future, but there’s no date just yet.
