Pixel Watch March/April 2026 update rolling out for LTE models

Following the announcement four weeks ago, the Pixel Watch March 2026 update is now available for the LTE variants.

  • Pixel Watch 2, 3 & 4 (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi): CP1A.260305.014.W2
  • Pixel Watch 2, 3 & 4 (4G LTE + Bluetooth/Wi-Fi): CP1A.260305.014.W4

This update first rolled out to the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi models, with factory and OTA images for the LTE variants now available on Google’s site. It’s listed as “Apr 2026,” though the build number is identical to the one Google listed ahead of time four weeks ago.

You can sideload using the included cable on the Pixel Watch 2 and 3, but the Pixel Watch 4 requires a debug adapter that is not widely available.

For some, repeatedly tapping Settings > System > System updates is pulling the OTA, but this is not working for everyone just yet.

Express Pay on the Pixel Watch 2 and newer saves you from having to first open the Google Wallet app. Google is using “advanced motion algorithms [that] help ensure payments only succeed when you intend to pay.” Your watch must be unlocked and Express Pay must be enabled ahead of time.

You’ll now get standalone Earthquake alerts directly on the Pixel Watch “without an active connection to your smartphone, if your device is connected via Wi-Fi or LTE.”

On the Pixel Watch 2+ and Pixel 8+, “Notify when left behind” will trigger an alert when “you leave your phone behind and go to a different location.”

To avoid unnecessary notifications, your watch will not notify you if you’re still nearby, even if Bluetooth disconnects. For example, you will not get a notification when walking from your living room to your bedroom. You’ll get a notification only when you have significantly changed your location.

To enable, open the companion app > Watch Preferences > Security > Notify when left behind.

Additionally, your phone can now automatically lock if the watch moves out of Bluetooth range. Go to Watch Preferences > Security > Lock phone when left behind.

On the Pixel Watch 3+ and Pixel 8 Pro+ (A-Series excluded), your wearable can be used to verify Identity Checks.

The one-handed gestures introduced on the PW4 are now available on the Pixel Watch 3.

Finally, Pixel Watch Satellite SOS is now available in Europe, Canada, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and Hawaii.
