According to a new report, Samsung has plans for a fourth new Galaxy S27 series device in 2027, with the Galaxy S27 “Pro” packing specs from the Ultra, but without an S Pen.
Samsung has had the same formula for its flagship Galaxy S series for the past six generations. A top-tier “Ultra” with camera upgrades sitting above a compact Galaxy S and a third “Plus” model that sits in between the two on size, but has the specs of the smaller phone.
That might finally be changing.
ETNews reports that Samsung is planning to add a fourth model in the Galaxy S27 series with the introduction of the Galaxy S27 “Pro.” This new device would differ in that it would pack some of the key features of the Galaxy S27 Ultra – presumably including the 200MP camera and Privacy Display. It would lack an S Pen and, we’re guessing, perhaps have a smaller display. The report is vague as to which specs exactly would make their way into this fourth model.
Samsung’s last attempt at a fourth model in its lineup, the super-thin Galaxy S25 Edge, was a complete failure, to the point where Samsung has apparently given up on thin phones.
The report brings out that this four-model lineup would more closely mirror Apple, which has a smaller “Pro” phone that shares most specs of the top-end “Pro Max,” while two sizes of the base model are also available. The Galaxy S Ultra’s spec sheet has always been enticing, so it’ll be nice to see a different form factor offering those specs, should Samsung’s plans stay on track – they certainly didn’t for the Galaxy S26 series.
