A new report out of Korea reveals that Samsung is boosting production of the Galaxy S26 series due to demand, with a particular focus on the smallest model.
ZDNet Korea reports that Samsung is boosting production of the Galaxy S26 series this month in response to higher demand. Production in April consists of 3 million units, up from 2.4 million previously planned. That breaks down to 1.3 million Galaxy S26 units, 200,000 Galaxy S26+ units, and 1.5 million Galaxy S26 Ultra units.
The Galaxy S26 saw the biggest boost of the bunch, rising by 500,000 in the revised plans. Galaxy S26 Ultra’s production also jumped by 200,000. Meanwhile, Samsung lessened production plans for the Galaxy S26+ by 100,000 units.
Samsung’s flagship series is usually most popular in its Ultra tier, but the base Galaxy S26 is certainly having its own moment, with these boosted production numbers suggesting more customers and opting for the smallest option during this cycle. The report brings out that demand for the Ultra is still “particularly high” this year.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s Galaxy S27 plans point towards the possibility of a second device that matches the Ultra’s camera specs, among others, while presumably being smaller and/or more affordable. That “Pro” device would act as a fourth option in the lineup.
The boost in production also comes as Samsung’s budget-focused models are acutally seeing production cuts. The Galaxy A37 is reportedly seeing a 200,000 unit cut in its April production plan, while the Galaxy A17 is dropping by 500,000 units.
