Google Wallet adds Live Update for flight tracking

As previously teased, Google Wallet for Android now offers Live Updates for tracking your current flight.

If you add your boarding pass to Google Wallet, you already get notifications with updates like boarding time changes. The persistent notification also provides quick access to the QR code at the gate. Wallet also uses its Gmail integration to remind you to check in.

Google Wallet is now showing a Live Update on Android 16+. It becomes active shortly before takeoff. The status bar icon is the Wallet logo, with Google showing the estimated arrival time and airline. Appearing on your always-on display and lockscreen, the progress bar shows flight duration and uses a plane icon.

Tapping just takes you to the usual ticket page, which has a link to Google Flights at the bottom that opens as a web search result.

Google first mentioned this feature was coming in October 2025. Train trips and other “events” should also be supported.

This Live Updates support in Wallet joins Google Maps navigation.
