Samsung starts stable One UI 8.5 rollout for Galaxy devices today

After months in beta, Samsung has finally launched its next major Galaxy update, One UI 8.5, with the stable rollout starting today.

Samsung technically launched One UI 8.5 on the Galaxy S26 series in February, but it’s been in beta on select devices since late 2025. The update, like One UI 8.0, is still based on Android 16, but with some design tweaks and changes throughout the experience. It also delivers a few more Galaxy AI features, such as “Now Nudge” within Samsung Keyboard and more.

Perhaps the biggest addition for many will be support for AirDrop over Quick Share, which Samsung will be rolling out with this stable update.

Some other changes found in One UI 8.5 include:

  • Fully customizable Quick Panel
  • Auracast broadcasts via Bluetooth
  • Lockscreen layout automatically adjusts to your wallpaper
  • Upgrades to the Weather app and homescreen widget
  • Temporary disable option for Auto Blocker
  • Improvements to power saving mode for additional battery life
  • Partial screen recording
  • DeX remembers window sizes

All in all, it’s a surprisingly big update!

As of today, Samsung says One UI 8.5 is rolling out globally to users on supported Galaxy devices, starting in Korea. Other global markets should follow in the days to come.

The initial list includes the latest Galaxy smartphones and tablets, with Galaxy S25 probably first in line for the update.

Samsung specifically calls out the following Galaxy devices for incoming One UI 8.5 updates:

  • Galaxy S25 series
  • Galaxy S25 FE
  • Galaxy S24 series
  • Galaxy S24 FE
  • Galaxy Z Fold 7
  • Galaxy Z Flip 7
  • Galaxy Z Fold 6
  • Galaxy Z Flip 6
  • Galaxy Tab S11 series
  • Galaxy Tab S10 series

Stay tuned, as we’ll be watching for wider rollouts across Samsung’s entire lineup! You can check for updates via the Settings menu.
