The Honor Robot Phone is an interesting concept, but one that’s also felt a little like it might not be real. Honor says it’s actually happening, though, committing to a Q3 2026 release date for the Robot Phone and teasing imaging enhancements from its partner, ARRI.
Honor this week brought the Robot Phone to the Cannes Film Festival, specifically to “China Night,” where “creator experiences” actually let some hold and use the device. During prior outings at CES and MWC, Honor didn’t allow for directly hands-on with the device, either hiding it behind glass or just out of reach.
But there are two big updates here.
Firstly, Honor says the Robot Phone will officially launch sometime during Q3 2026. That means as early as July 1, but at least before the end of September 2026. Previously, Honor had only said the device would launch before the end of 2026.
Beyond that, this week’s announcement also confirmed that Honor’s partnership with ARRI will bring imaging enhancements to the Robot Phone. Honor says the built-in gimbal will deliver “complex, stabilized tracking shots” while ARRI adds that “core elements of ARRI Image Science are being integrated directly” into the camera experience. ARRI is best known for building professional-tier cameras including the Alexa series, which has been used on major blockbuster films over the past 15+ years. The Robot Phone is already confirmed to have a 200MP camera in its gimbal.

We’ll have to wait and see how these improvements actually impact the Robot Phone’s output, but it’s intriguing to say the least.
