The best Galaxy Z Fold 8 deal is at Amazon — boosted trade-in plus $350 gift card

Samsung’s latest foldables are finally up for pre-order, but unlike past launches, the best deal you’ll actually find isn’t on the company’s own website — it’s at Amazon. Whether you’re chasing after the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra or looking at the newly-rectangular Z Fold 8, Amazon can knock off up to $600 with the right trade-in, all while bundling a $350 gift card with every purchase.

The gift card is the big pre-order bonus here, considering it comes with every Fold 8 whether or not you manage to scrap back some trade-in credit. $350 is a pretty hefty gift card, and while I won’t pretend it’s as tempting as if Samsung knocked $350 off the MSRP, it does bring the Fold 8’s $1,900 starting price closer to Earth. You might not be able to use that cash at your local grocery store, but applying it towards everyday goods — paper towels, cleaning supplies — certainly makes it feel like you’ve clawed some cash back.

Just don’t expect to find that Pistachio colorway on Amazon…

On top of that, Amazon will give shoppers up to $600 back for qualifying trade-ins, though that number is likely misleading for most 9to5Google readers. Technically, Amazon advertises up to $900 for select devices (and $1,000 on the Ultra), but their lists for both phones currently max out at $600 for an iPhone 16 Pro Max, and drops off pretty quickly for devices you might actually own. Still, up to $340 for a Pixel 9 Pro XL, $545 for a Galaxy S25 Ultra, and $350 for a Fold 6 does make for some excellent savings, even if you’ll need maxed out storage configurations to get those exact dollar amounts.

But hey, compared to Samsung’s own website — which ditched storage upgrades while clamping down even further on typical trade-in values — Amazon’s offerings are basically a steal. Using the Pixel 9 Pro XL as an example, purchasing through Samsung’s online store only knocks $305 off the price, $5 less than what Amazon will give you for the base 128GB model in addition to including that $350 gift card. If you’re willing to count it towards the final cash value of the phone, we’re talking about paying $1,240 for the base Galaxy Z Fold 8 at Amazon, compared to just shy of $1,600 at Samsung.

That said, you won’t find that hot Pistachio model taking the world by storm at Amazon, so you’ll have to ask yourself whether your preferred color is worth $350. Amazon’s gift card offer is only available until August 6th, so if it’s enough to get you off the fence with a Fold 8 in your shopping cart, don’t wait too long to pull the trigger.
