Amazon’s Ring is upgrading its clever Peephole Cam with 2K resolution, and it’s available for pre-order now.
The Ring Peephole Cam originally launched in 2019 and was quietly discontinued a few months ago, much to the chagrin of fans of the unique form factor. While there are plenty of battery-powered smart doorbells and cameras out there, the Peephole Cam’s design quite literally replaces your physical peephole with a camera in a very renter-friendly design that doesn’t require additional drilling.
Now, it’s getting an upgrade.
The Ring Peephole Cam 2K is now available for pre-order with the higher resolution that earns the namesake, as well as a refreshed design that’s slimmer and comes in three colors – Speckled Gray, Speckled White, and Matte Mocha. The latter two do cost $10 extra. Battery life is said to be 120 days with a battery pack that can be removed quickly for easy recharging.
The $99 camera is available for pre-order on the Ring website and Amazon and ships starting August 19.
