Google working on AI-generated lockscreen clocks for Pixel

Besides customizable Quick Settings, Android Canary 2608 reveals work on AI-generated lockscreen clocks for Pixel phones.

With some tinkering, you can see the interface for this in Android Canary 2608, but the server-side functionality is not yet live.

It involves an “Enter AI Prompt” box, with Google offering “Ideas” and the ability to upload an image for reference. A gallery interface lets you save and access multiple designs.

You’re essentially generating a unique 0-9 number set that can be made of any material or visual style, with this feature presumably limited to digital clocks. This approach is not too different from AI wallpapers. It comes as Google has not updated the eight options available on Pixel for quite some time.

Features in Android Canary don’t always launch. Meanwhile, the expanded Dynamic Color theming options introduced in the June build have yet to appear as of Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2.
