Debuting with a higher price tag and effectively the same spec sheet, the Galaxy S26 FE might as well be a poster child for living through “RAMageddon.”
Samsung has just unveiled its new Galaxy S26 FE, with the “Fan Edition” device offering more or less an identical set of specs compared to last year’s Galaxy S25 FE – 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Exynos 2500 chip, 8GB of RAM (128GB/256GB storage), a 4,900 mAh battery with 45W charging, and a triple camera setup on the back comprised of a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 8MP telephoto (3x).
Outside of a chipset generation bump, the only new thing this year, at least on paper, is that the Galaxy S26 FE runs Android 17 (One UI 9) out of the box, an update only available otherwise on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series (and Flip 8). The software packs some added features, too, such as the “My FanCam” that tracks a subject in video for social sharing, new AI features powered by Gemini Omni, and more.
Samsung has also updated the design this year, with a new camera bump look that’s closer to the rest of the Galaxy S26 series. It also comes in “Blueberry,” “Graphite,” and “Pistachio” colorways.
It’s a tough sell, to say the least, given Galaxy S25 FE launched for $50 less last year, and currently sells for as little as $500 outright through some carriers and retailers. But that’s just life during “RAMageddon,” ain’t it?
Galaxy S26 FE will be available on September 4.
