Xiaomi 18 Fold officially revealed with wide design like Galaxy Z Fold 8, launches next week

Xiaomi is the latest brand adopting a wide foldable form factor, with the Xiaomi 18 Fold getting an official first look at IFA 2026 ahead of a launch next week.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold first appeared in a hands-on leak last month, but now the company is officially showing off the new hardware at IFA 2026 in Berlin. 9to5Mac’s Fernando Silva was able to see the device in person, and was quick to note the similarities to Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone.

Of course, it’s also similar to the already-available Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Xiaomi didn’t confirm much about the foldable at IFA, only reiterating that it will run on the Xiaomi ORING 3 chipset. It was also confirmed that the Fold will see an official launch in China on September 7.

GSMArena notes that the outer display measures 5.38-inches while the inner display is 7.58-inches. The whole device has a rounded form factor compared to the Fold 8, which might be nice.
