Star Wars: Galactic Racer is free to play on Amazon Luna

The long-awaited Star Wars: Galactic Racer launched earlier this week on consoles and PC, and is also free to play on Amazon Luna.

Now this is podracing.

That’s more or less the premise of Galactic Racer. The game takes players to tracks around the galaxy during the New Republic era, including some familiar spaces. Amazon summarizes:

STAR WARS: Galactic Racer is a runs-based, high-stakes reinvention of racing born in the lawless Outer Rim. Set during the era of the New Republic, STAR WARS: Galactic Racer introduces the Galactic League—a high-stakes underground racing circuit where rival racers, dangerous courses, and powerful syndicates collide.

And it’s free on Luna.

Amazon’s cloud gaming service has seen quite the reinvention over the past year, and currently includes a rotating library of games you can play for free with an Amazon Prime membership. And that’s where Galactic Racer is available. The game launched on Luna the same day as console and PC in perhaps the most high-profile launch on the service in recent memory, especially seeing as the game retails for $60 on other platforms.

You can access Luna through the web, but you’ll need an Amazon Prime membership to get the most out of it (including Galactic Racer).
