According to a leak last month, Samsung is working on a successor to 2014’s Gear Fit and smart wireless earbuds with fitness tracking. Today, the Gear Fit 2 and Gear IconX (via Droid Life) were accidentally revealed in official images on one of Samsung’s websites.
Revealing the fitness nature of both Gear devices, the wearables were featured on a site promoting the S Health ecosystem. Under accessories, there is also an unannounced Smart Charm device that goes on your wrist and has interchangeable bands. The screen-less devices comes in a variety of colors and will likely compete with low-end fitness trackers.
Shown off in a new angle, the Gear Fit 2 looks much slicker than the previous model. The device appears to be slightly wider and thinner. From the earlier leak, it looks like the bands are also swappable and the strap in this image appears to use a similar closing mechanism as the Apple Watch. The Gear Fit 2 is rumored to be priced around $200 and features a curved 1.84-inch Super AMOLED display, heart rate monitor, and GPS.
The new images of Gear IconX don’t reveal too much besides that it will come in different colors and appears to have a touch surface to control playback. Pricing is unknown, but judging from competitors like the Bragi Dash it could be north of $200.
