Samsung’s One UI 6 has been available through a beta program in the US for some time, though many users on devices older than the Galaxy Watch 7 were left without a full upgrade. It now looks like the One UI 6 update is beginning to roll out on older Galaxy Watch models, like the Galaxy Watch 6 series.
One UI 6 is a sizeable upgrade that targets users who utilize its workout and activity features. The new OS brings a Sleep Apnea tool and better health tracking with an Energy Score based on sleep, activity, and other data. The update also brings a couple of first-party watch faces that complement the array that’s already available.
According to multiple reports on Reddit, it looks like users with Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 6 Classic are seeing the full One UI 6 update available. It doesn’t look like any versions of the base Galaxy Watch 6 are seeing the update become available, but that could change very soon.
The One UI 6 watch update also seems to be limited to the US, with users reporting that there is no update to be found in Europe and other regions. If Samsung follows recent trends, it won’t take long for the update to appear in more regions.
As far as Galaxy Watch models go, it also shouldn’t take long for the company to push an update to the base Galaxy Watch 6, both LTE and BT editions. Beyond that, it may take a little time for the new OS to come to the Galaxy Watch 5 and 4 series, as well as the models within.
It’s also worth noting that the Galaxy Watch 7 has already received the update and will be first in line to successive rollouts. That is, until we see the release of the Galaxy Watch 8 or similarly-named wearable.
