Samsung preps 6.47-inch Galaxy S27 ‘Pro’ to make 4 flagship models next year

Leaks allege that Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Pro will sport a 6.47-inch display. It’s expected to be shoehorned in as the fourth model in Samsung’s flagship ‘S’ lineup.

The Galaxy S27’s 6.47-inch display will be powered by an OLED panel, according to a report by ETNews. The leak further supports the expectation that the phone will be released early next year as an additional model alongside Samsung’s other flagship phones. The difference here is that the company doesn’t appear to be limiting itself to just three devices.

Sources familiar with the Galaxy S27 Pro indicate Samsung is all in on developing an additional model this time around. It looked like Samsung would do something similar last year, but when push came to shove, the company ultimately decided to drop the Galaxy S26 Edge and work in a half-hearted update to the Galaxy S25 Plus.

Historically, the lineup has consisted of the base device, Plus model, and Ultra variant. The three phones offered distinct size profiles and spec sheets. The Ultra is always the more expensive version, reserving the best cameras for the more premium device. The base model has never slouched, either. The Galaxy S26 may have been the best choice of the three at the beginning of this year.

If the Galaxy S27 Pro leaks prove true and the phone offers a size barely larger than the base model, Samsung will be abandoning the tested three-device lineup for something a little more risky at a time when device manufacturing has skyrocketed in cost.

It’s unclear what the Galaxy S27 Pro would offer in that presumed second seat. At 6.47 inches, it would be the second smallest device. Whether or not it’s another thin option like the Galaxy S25 Edge is unclear, though it registers smaller in screen size.

Previous reports suggest it could offer a closer spec sheet to the Ultra variant. In the context of this latest leak, there’s a chance Samsung could be offering a premium device in a smaller package.

Changes would likely need to be made to surrounding models to make it a distinct option and not simply a derivative model with minor tweaks – again.
