Google TV Streamer update adds Google Home Speaker support, more

Following the rollout two weeks ago, Google has shared what’s new in the latest Google TV Streamer update.

The changelog is a bit more detailed than what appeared on the update screen.

Besides the April 2026 security patch, UTTK.260317.003 introduces “Google Home Speaker audio output support.” This lets you pair the new Gemini speakers for spatial surround-sound audio. The device launches later this week, with Google making the TV Streamer update available just before that.

There’s also Thread credentials sharing via QR codes. Go to Network & Internet in Settings to “Share Thread network credentials.” This release brings the Google TV Streamer to Thread 1.4.

Finally, there are “Bug fixes and performance improvements” to round out the changelog.

To install the latest release, go to Settings > System > About > System update. The Google TV Streamer is currently $25 off at Amazon for Prime Day.
