Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 8 series is set to include two devices, the Fold 8 and the Fold 8 “Ultra,” branding that’s still incredibly confusing, but essentially official thanks to the latest leaks.
It’s widely known – pun (mostly) unintended – that Samsung has two Galaxy Z Fold 8 devices in the works. One that recycles the form factor of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and one that mirrors Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone with a wider inner display and shorter outer panel.
Yet, in a move that’s the opposite of what you’d expect, a leak in May revealed that Samsung would name the new, wider device “Galaxy Z Fold 8,” while rebranding the familiar form factor as “Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.”
And yet, another new leak essentially cements this as fact.
Case listings on the WPC database from “Yuchuan” show cases for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Fold 8, and Fold 8 Ultra. With less than a month until Samsung releases these phones, that’s essentially confirmation that, yes, this is the branding we’re going with.

The cases themselves are fairly unremarkable, beyond a “Qi2 Ready” stamp in the corner that’s pretty unusual to see.

These listings probably won’t stay up for long, both because they’re spoiling Samsung’s big launch, as well as because case listings almost never stay on the WPC’s “Certified Products” list for more than a week or two, as we’ve noticed while tracking this list for the past couple of years.
Samsung is expected to launch its new foldables on July 22.
