“Googlebook” is a weird name, right? That was my personal first takeaway from this new platform, and it seems even Google Search supports the idea that Google should have used something else, as you can’t actually search for “Googlebook” without getting redirected elsewhere.
“Googlebook” is the name of Google’s new Android-based laptop platform, while “Google Books” is the company’s long-running index of books.

To be fair, it still would have been an awful name even if no other "Google Books" existed.
Mac-Book.

Goo-gle-book. 3 syllables. Doesn't flow nearly as well.
Not to mention, it's just... so boring? Like, what kind of creative mind has come up with "Googlebook"? I could only dream of having the fantasy they had...
As pointed out by The Verge late last week, searching for “Googlebooks” on Google Search currently directs to a “Did you mean?” search for “Google Books.” You have to then manually click a link to actually search for Googlebook laptops.
This is still happening as of today.
Searching for “Googlebook” doesn’t return the same error, but it’s a pretty funny result for Google’s own platform.
