XREAL Aura with Android XR start at $1,279

XREAL’s first pair of Android XR glasses, XREAL Aura, finally have a price tag – $1,279.

XREAL makes glasses that aren’t a traditional VR headset, nor are they the smart glasses we’ve imagined for the future. They sit somewhere in between, with a display that sits atop a see-through lens so you can mix the display’s content with the real world around you, no cameras needed.

As we noted in a review of XREAL One Pro, though, the base experience of using the glasses to display content from a USB-C device like a laptop, phone, or handheld game console is a bit limited. Android XR’s promises are set to deliver a big upgrade to the experience, and that’s exactly what XREAL has been building.

XREAL Aura is effectively the same core idea, just with an included puck that has a battery, processing power, and Android XR. And it starts at $1,279, the company has today confirmed. The price of XREAL Aura was the missing puzzle piece for months, and it’s actually well below the company’s promise of “under $1,500.”

That’s for the base 12GB/256GB model, with an upgraded version costing a bit more:

There’s no charge for the medium or large size difference.

As far as actually putting in an order, XREAL says the initial delivery wave will arrive “before the holidays,” with a second wave presumably arriving sometime in early 2027. You have to purchase a $199 “Priority Deposit” to place a pre-order, with the cost going towards the price of your Aura glasses.

Pre-orders open later this month.
