Wrap-up: Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich

Google and Samsung just wrapped up their event in Hong Kong this evening where they just unveiled the highly anticipated Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich. The Galaxy Nexus is the flagship phone for Ice Cream Sandwich, which will ship sometime in November to U.S., Europe, and Asia. As of now, all we know is Verizon as a confirmed carrier and possibly T-Mobile.

The Galaxy Nexus has a curved design. Other specs for the device include a 4.65-inch (1280 x 720) 720P HD Super AMOLED display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel rear-camera, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 16GB or 32GB storage option, a barometer, and NFC technology.

The Galaxy Nexus will ship with Android 4.0, dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich, which features many UI changes over the last version. Other updates to the OS include new software buttons, Google+ integration, Peoples app, updated core apps (Gmail, Cal, etc..), and new face recognition that will allow you to unlock your device.
