Today at I/O, Google’s director of product management for Chrome,Avni Shah announced that the company has over 300 million active users on its mobile browser. Based on the company’s new Material Design, this refreshed version of Chrome features new animations that move at 60 frames per second. One of the new features coming to mobile web is the addition of Recents being able to display Chrome tabs for fast access.

This is now open to developer now. Developers can now opt in to add links to their respective applications based on text on the web. If your app requires user sign in, Google+ will be available as an automatic option. There’s also an new API in Google Play services that helps users “rediscover” content found in a specific app. This new feature adds content into search from previous user activity. For example, Shah demoed a tour of a person viewing a 3D tour of a popular landmark, when going into search results suggested a view of the tour through Google Earth. This new feature will be available to all apps under this new API.
