Samsung launches Galaxy S7 and S7 edge in ‘Pink Gold’

Samsung today announced it’s adding a new color to the Galaxy S7 and the S7 edge lineup – Pink Gold. The new color is now available in Korea, but will be making its way to other territories in the future.

Here is what Samsung has to say about its new Pink Gold color, via a news release on its corporate website:

Pink Gold was chosen as it, like the other colors available for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, is a natural color that provides a sense of comfort. These hues glitter and shimmer as if illuminated from inside their glass surfaces.

Samsung states that its Pink Gold color was inspired by skin-tone:

In particular, the refined, skin tone-inspired Pink Gold color scheme is intended to soothe and incorporate a touch of gentleness, radiance and sophistication to the smartphones’ design.

That may be true, but it’s likely that the popularity of Apple’s rose gold color option may have had something to do with this decision as well.

Pink Gold is the fifth color option available for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Other colors include Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, White Pearl and Silver Titanium.
