Samsung is generally one of the best companies to visit at the Consumer Electronics Show in Vegas. The Korean giant arguably puts on some of the best shows and has one of the largest individual display areas for any company in attendance. That’s all well and good, but a new post by the company’s “Samsung Tomorrow” blog is capturing our attention.
Entitled “Samsung at CES 2014” the company teases wearables, the ‘smart home’ and more:
Samsung at CES 2014
Three months ago at IFA 2013, Samsung’s latest wearable device, Galaxy Gear, was unveiled. Also, Samsung’s smart home, a home consisted of smart products that allow users to control with their smart phones via apps, was demonstrated as a concept in Berlin. The wearable device market is on the rise and the concept of ‘smart home’ has started to gain ground. Hence, at this CES, maybe we can expect some innovative products that we had imagined to use in the future.
Is it possible we might see Samsung unleash a second-generation Galaxy Gear? It’s possible but I’d think anything of that scope might be worthy of a standalone press event that doesn’t interfere with CES. Still, Samsung might be eager to get a second-generation Galaxy Gear on store shelves to offset complaints the first-generation was rushed to market in an effort to beat future competition.
As Samsung specifically mentions “innovative products,” it leaves plenty to the imagination and we can only hope that at least one of those products has Android powering it.
