Although T-Mobile is rumored to be betrothed to Sprint, the magenta-hued carrier appears to have some prenuptial activities going on. Today, the company teased a new program called The Underground aimed at “true enthusiasts” looking for the latest and greatest the wireless world has to offer. As suggested by its name, this new initiative isn’t for any and everyone, but the carrier has yet to disclose what it takes to get in on the action.
Right now, visiting The Underground’s landing page will take you to a jazzed up layout that offers a gold version of Samsung’s Galaxy S5, along with the company’s Gear Fit and Gear 2 smartwatches. In addition to Samsung product placement, T-M0bile’s new web portal has a listing for Jawbone’s UP24 fitness band, but after that these four gadgets the trail goes cold.
In its initial announcement, T-Mobile said that its new website will offer “limited-stock devices and accessories,” but from the look of things this only appears to apply to rare product colors. At least for the time being. So, what’s this all about? We’re not completely sure, but hopefully we’ll get a better idea later this month at T-Mobile’s Uncarrier event on June 18th in Los Angeles.
