More DROID Turbo details leak, include two-day battery life, Snapdragon 805 processor

Earlier today, Verizon sent out invites to an October 28th press event for its unveiling of the DROID Turbo, but thanks to leak from Android Central, we now know everything there is to know about the device. The report claims that the device will be available in classic Verizon red and black variants with 32GB of internal storage.

The body of the device is said to be scratch-resistant with a “metallized glass fiber” coating and a Gorilla Glass 3 display. While not specifically waterproof, Verizon says the device can survive “everyday spills and 20 mounts in a downpour.” Finally, the backing of the device is Kevlar, “offering a smooth finish.”

In terms of specifications, the DROID Turbo packs a 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor with 3GB of RAM. The display is 5.2-inches, as previous reports claimed, and has a 2560×1440 display, which comes out to 565 pixels per inch. The rear-camera is a whopping 21MP with 4k video recording and dual-LED flash. Perhaps most impressively, however, the device features a 3,900mAh battery that can power 48 hours of usage. Motorola also touts that the device can get 8 hours of charge from 15 minutes of usage of the included Turbo Charger.

Finally, the DROID Turbo will ship with Android 4.4 KitKat and a plethora of Motorola enhancements on top. Specific to the Turbo, the device features a variety of “Zap” capabilities, as well. For instance, you can share your screenshot to your “Zap Zone” by saying “OK DROID Turbo, Zap my screen.”

Verizon is set to unveil the DROID Turbo on October 28th, so we can expect to hear information regarding pricing and availability then.
