Jawbone announced this evening that it finally expects to begin fulfilling pre-orders of its Up3 fitness tracker on April 20th. The company expects all pre-orders to ship no later than mid-May. After pre-orders have been fulfilled, Jawbone will begin shipping new orders of the Up3. Pre-orders will ship in the order they were received.

Jawbone blamed the delay of the Up3 on issues relating to the water resistance feature of the device. The Up3 was announced in November of 2014 and expected to hit retail by the end of the year. When Jawbone began to scale it manufacturing process, however,  it realized that some units were not achieving the level of water resistance that it had hoped. The company had initially announced that the device would be water-resistant up to 10 meters. Now, Jawbone claims that the Up3 is “in line with most other multi-sensor trackers” and resistant to everyday splashes.

The Jawbone Up3 runs $180 in the United States. More specific information can be viewed on Jawbone’s site. If you order an Up3 today, expect it to ship sometime in late-May.
