Xiaomi is going to very slowly start its entry into Europe and the United States next week, according to a post from the company’s Facebook page. Starting on the 19th of May, the company will offer a small selection of accessories—including power banks and headphones—to buyers in the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany…
Ex-Googler Hugo Barra confirmed during the closing Q & A session of the company’s press event in February that Xiaomi smartphones and tablets will not be coming to the US later this year, but that the company was definitely “thinking about” bringing Mi.com—and some accessories—to the US. Now, it appears that those thoughts are coming to fruition in the form of a “beta” website for purchasing some of the company’s most popular accessories.
As per the announcement post:
For the 1st time ever, fans in US, UK, France and Germany can shop on mi.com (beta test) and purchase star accessories like the 5000mAh and 10400mAh Mi power banks, Mi Band and Mi Headphones!
Very limited quantities will be available on 19 May, 1pm CEST. Sign up for a Mi Account (http://account.mi.com) now and log in early before the sale starts. Partager avec vos amis!
For now, customers will have the opportunity to buy Mi Headphones, both 5,000 mAh and 10400mAh Power Banks, and the Mi Band. Xiaomi says you should head over to Mi.com right now and create your account so that you can have a better chance at nabbing the “limited supply” of these accessories on the 19th. Sales will begin at 1 PM CEST, which is 7 AM in United States EST.
