Google Drive clocks out early, service disruption impacts Docs + other apps [Updated]

Update: Google says all services are restored!

Seeing Google Drive and other services unresponsive this afternoon? Rest assured that it’s not just you. Google has acknowledged the service disruption on its app status page with this message posted within the hour:

We’re investigating reports of an issue with Google Drive. We will provide more information shortly.

Google calls the service issue affecting users a disruption and not an outage, meaning not every should be seeing issues but enough people are to warrant looking into it. Aside from Google Drive, the app status board lists similar issues with Docs, Slides, and Sheets as the issue is tied together. Also related: Classroom and Google Realtime API have the same system disruption status and message.

And while it’s never fun seeing cloud-based services stop working, Google is usually diligent about updating its app status page with the latest information even when a disruption or outage lasts a while, so stay tuned for updates.

Update: Google issued this udpate at 4:10 pm ET:

Our team is continuing to investigate this issue. We will provide an update by 10/9/15, 5:10 PM with more information about this problem. Thank you for your patience.

Update 2: It appears Google Keep is down for most as well.

Update 3: Google says all services are restored!
