The Moto 360 Sport has been available in the UK and France since December 18th. Starting today, those in the US will be able to purchase the smarwatch from Motorola and Verizon’s online store.
Compared to the regular Moto 360, the Sport is designed to be more resistant to the wear and tear of exercise. Its body is made from plastic and has a non-replaceable silicone band. Its display automatically switches to a more muted view when in sunlight. Besides those features, it also has GPS to track runs using Motorola’s exercise app, Moto Body. It has a 300mAh battery (like the smaller 42mm Moto 360) rated at a full day of battery life.
At 45mm, it is closer in size to the larger regular 46mm watch, but is $50 cheaper at $299. It will be available in Black, Flame (Orange), and White from Verizon’s and Motorola’s online stores. On the 10th, the Sport will be available through Best Buy’s retail stores.
At CES, New Balance announced they will be releasing a running focused Android Wear watch this holiday season. Other than using an Intel chip inside, no other details were announced. Casio also announced a Wear device geared for the great outdoors.
