After making a name for itself with the Honor 5X and subsequent releases, Huawei’s Honor brand is about to debut yet another new smartphone. This time around the company is teasing a new device with the name “Note 8” and we may have our first look thanks to a new listing on TENAA, a Chinese telecommunication authority.
The listing shows off two images of the alleged Note 8 which packs a design not dissimilar to that of other Honor devices. The device is listed with the model number EDI-AL10 and brings along solid specifications including an octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 64GB of storage, 4GB of RAM, and a huge 4,400 mAh battery. The real story comes with the display however.
At 6.6-inches, this is the largest display yet on an Honor smartphone. Thankfully the display will have a QHD resolution so things should still look pretty sharp. The listing also reports the display using OLED technology as opposed to IPS panels as we’ve seen on other Honor smartphones.
The TENAA listing also reports Android Marshmallow running on the device with a 13MP rear camera and 8MP front facing shooter. As with most other Huawei devices, a fingerprint sensor should also be included on the rear.
A release date for this device is unclear, but seeing that Huawei has already been teasing the device, I would imagine that an announcement isn’t too far off.
