MagSafe tech is one of the coolest features available in phones and accessories, which lets you attach magnetic accessories to charge or hang on to your phone. So does the Galaxy S24 Ultra have MagSafe?
There are different versions of MagSafe
Apple originally produced MagSafe as one of the iPhone’s new features in 2020, not to be confused with the MagSafe tech used in the same company’s Macbooks. On the iPhone, MagSafe was an array of magnets placed just under the rear panel, allowing you to use specific chargers. Those MagSafe chargers would attach to the back of the phone and wirelessly power it up.
On Android phones, MagSafe means something a little different. No OEMs have adopted the technology for placement directly in phones, but a lot of accessory brands use the standard in cases and other add-ons.
Is there MagSafe on the Galaxy S24 or S24 Ultra?
The answer to that question is no; there is no MagSafe on the Galaxy S24 or S24 Ultra.
However, it’s still incredibly possible to use MagSafe with the Galaxy S24 Ultra and every other S24 device. You can do this by purchasing a MagSafe-compatible case. The case will have a magnet array in the back of the phone that allows you to attach accessories.
The best part is that just about any MagSafe accessory will fit with a magnetic case, meaning you don’t need to always buy one brand’s case and add-ons.
One of the only exceptions to that is with Peak Design cases, which are MagSafe and have a special locking mechanism on the bike for more intense activities. But even with that mechanism, any MagSafe accessory will work with Peak Design cases. They have a special lineup of SlimFit accessories that lock into place on top of normal MagSafe products.
What kind of accessories exist?
Generally speaking, there are several broad types of MagSafe accessories. That includes wallets, car mounts, wireless chargers, and even tiny tripods.
On top of that, there are specialized accessories that are fantastic to have on hand for certain activities. For instance, I own a MagSafe mount that can be attached to golf carts to have my phone in an ideal spot on the course.
MagSafe cases we recommend
There are a ton of case options for the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but there are a few brands that we’ve tested with MagSafe compatibility in mind. Here are some of the better options out there:

Optionally, you can add MagSafe to any case with the Spigen Magnetic Ring Plate.
While the Galaxy S24 Ultra doesn’t have MagSafe built-in, the arguably better option is to find a case that does have MagSafe. Some of the options we’ve laid out above have worked really well for us, though there are tons of options out there.
