Google Pixel 9a reportedly won’t get a price increase as core specs leak

Google’s Pixel 9a is shaping up to have an earlier launch next year, and as that nears, more information is coming out. But, apparently, Pixel 9a won’t see a price increase.

The Pixel 9a is said to be launching in March 2025, as a single source has reported, and is set to bring some key upgrades such as a much bigger battery, a big hardware redesign, and some camera tweaks.

Now, we’re getting a closer look at the alleged specs and a hint at the price.

The folks at Android Headlines report that the Pixel 9a will carry the same price as the Pixel 8a, which was $499 in the States.

Pixel 9a is further mentioned to weigh in at 186g, down 2g from the Pixel 8a (despite the bigger battery and size, somehow) and offer a 48MP camera alongside a 13MP ultrawide and 13MP front-facing camera. The 5,000 mAh battery is charged via an 18W wired connection and 7.5W wireless connection, while there’s 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, just like the Pixel 8a. The 6.3-inch display is a 120Hz panel as well.

Tensor G4 is also mentioned, but this report doesn’t directly corroborate previous reports that claimed the chip wouldn’t use the same updated modem as the G4 used in other Pixel 9 series devices.
