Latest Android Auto 13.2 update now rolling out – what’s new

Google is rolling out a new update to Android Auto, version 13.2, which doesn’t bring much to the table in terms of major updates, but there are some tweaks.

Android Auto 13.2 is now rolling out via the Play Store to all users, beta or not, but is a part of the app’s typical slower and staged rollouts. You might already have the update available, or you might have to wait a couple of weeks to get your hands on it.

But, on the bright side, not much has changed in this update.

Android Auto 13.2 doesn’t bring any major changes, nor does it surface any of the new features we’ve been tracking for the past few months. Even behind the scenes, there’s not really all that much to talk about.

So what’s new?

Updates to the Android Auto app typically serve as a way for Google to address bugs on specific devices or vehicles, and the company doesn’t directly detail these when they happen. However, one tangible change within 13.2 is that EV settings for cars with an NACS charging adapter are no longer referred to as “non-Tesla” vehicles, but rather just vehicles with NACS support. A very minor change, but one that’s probably good for the sake of clarity, especially seeing as there are workarounds to run Android Auto on Tesla vehicles.

Just recently, Ford and Google rolled out deeper EV integration on select Ford vehicles which, in part, takes advantage of that NACS toggle in the settings.

Google has a few features in the works for Android Auto, such as a “Car Media” feature that seems to be adding radio controls among other features, but there’s no word on when that might be coming.
